Modern Staffing is seeking qualified Material Handlers/Warehouse Stock Associates for a local manufacturing company in New Braunfels, TX:

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of this position is to perform various duties such as accepting and processing incoming stock and material, picking and filling orders, packing and shipping orders, and managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse. Sort and maintain inventory, complete cycle counts, keep bins full for production, and complete other related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Load and unload trucks, receive raw material and products; picks, packs, wraps, labels, and/or ships products.
  • May maintain shipping and receiving logs and ensure that incoming and outgoing products and material are in good condition and accurate counts.
  • Move raw material to the production area and move finished products to inventory.
  • Move material to the production area. Replenish material as needed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization and safety of the warehouse/inventory.
  • Maintain organization of inventory, inventory control, and product knowledge.
  • Interacts with various departments in the performance of their duties.
  • Control costs by ensuring material and products are safely stored, accounted for and delivered to the proper customers as needed.
  • Verify and pull customer sales orders from warehouse stock.
  • Pack customer sales orders in appropriate packing material and shipping containers.
  • Prepare freight bills and other shipping documents for customer sales orders using a computer and ERP system.
  • Calculate shipping costs based on freight requirements and customer requests.
  • Process mail using US postage machine daily.
  • Operate a forklift, pallet jack, aerial lift and/or hand truck to move material to and from shipping area or supplier’s vehicle as needed.
  • Unpack, check and verify materials received against packing list; report discrepancies and/or damaged goods.
  • Operate computer to receive materials and query part information. Must be computer and Excel proficient.
  • Stock material in assigned location, observe date code requirements, first-in/first-out (FIFO) requirements and participate in cycle counts.
  • Provide general information regarding shipped and/or received material, inventory and supplies.
  • Effectively communicate with other department staff as needed and freight companies for pickup or delivery of material and products.
  • Follow established procedures, work instructions and operational controls implemented by the company.
  • Follow safe working practices and properly wear personal protective equipment as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate and one-year related experience in a related shipping/receiving environment. Forklift driver certification is preferred.

  • Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain forklift driver certification.
  • Be attentive to detail, have good planning, time management skills, and be willing to assume a variety of tasks to keep the warehouse functioning.
  • Prior experience with manufacturing assembly, handwork or packing preferred.
  • Ability to operate postage equipment and manual and electronic shipping equipment.
  • Computer, Microsoft Office and Excel proficient for data entry, order searches, email, ERP system, and web searches (mail, UPS, FedEx, etc...).
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculation, file and maintain records, documents, and compile and organize reports and/or material.
  • Ability to read and interpret shipping orders and shipping/receiving invoices.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform shipping, receiving and inventory control procedures.
  • Ability to effectively listen and communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull or otherwise move objects up to 75 pounds occasionally and/or frequently.
  • Work involves frequent periods of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning and reaching or bending at the waist.
  • Indoor/ outdoor work environment.
  • Visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand eye coordination, utilize near and far vision, depth perception and manual dexterity necessary to work with various materials, objects and operate telephone, computer keyboard, basic office and shipping equipment which are essential aspects of this position.

SHIFT:

Monday - Thursday 6:00AM-4:30PM
Tuesday - Friday 6:00AM-4:30PM

PAY RATE:

$16.34/hr.
