Job Description

Modern Staffing is seeking qualified PCB Soldering Assemblers for a local manufacturing company in New Braunfels, TX:

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of this position is to assemble mechanical and electro-mechanical highly configurable and complex units and/or boards, hardware, soldering parts to printed boards, complete re-work and other related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to read and interpret bill of materials (BOM) and accurately pick materials required for scheduled work orders.
  • Solder minor and complex PCB’s and other solder subs. Solders parts and wires to printed circuit boards and completes re-work. Maintain soldering certification.
  • Insert small component parts and/or wires onto circuit boards.
  • Test PCB boards and operate PWA machines.
  • Operate/use machines, hand tools, small power tools, voltage meters and testing equipment to assemble and test products. Strip, wrap wires and wire units.
  • Work from samples, drawings, blueprints, schematics and written and/or verbal instructions.
  • Read process sheets and assemble boards/units for standard and custom orders.
  • Package products and prepare for shipping. Ensure all packaging is according to workmanship standards.
  • Attach identifying labels to the finished product, boxes and/or part containers per work instructions.
  • Determine item identification and stock location. Store items in bins, racks, or shelves, according to identifying part number.
  • Ensure assigned production work orders are followed by schedule. Communicate any deviations immediately.
  • Complete in-process inspection and collaborate with Quality Auditors to ensure product meets specifications and quality attributes to eliminate product variances.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED). Experience in manufacturing/assembly and soldering work-related environment. Soldering certification and experience required.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and engineering documentation.
  • Skilled verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, color coding practices, prints and engineering documentation - attentive to detail.
  • Skilled in performing basic mathematical calculations.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Ability to understand and skills in operating mechanical systems and various shop machinery/equipment.
  • Skilled in using devices such as hand tools, small power tools and soldering iron.
  • Ability to perform detailed repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or frequently.
  • Ability to withstand frequent periods of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning and reaching or bending at the waist.

SHIFT:

Monday - Thursday 6:00AM-4:30PM

PAY RATE:

$17.55/hr.
