Modern Staffing is seeking a qualified Machine Operator for a local manufacturing company in New Braunfels, TX:
JOB SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of this position is to operate various machinery such as a SpinnOmatic orbital riveting machine, punch press, drill press, sander, tapping machine and/or other machine shop equipment as assigned to produce security hardware products.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Operate and use various machines, hand tools, small power tools, voltage meters and testing equipment to assemble and test products.
- Operate milling machines, punch press, drill press, sander, tapping machine, SpinnOmatic orbital riveting machine, kick press and other machine shop equipment to produce security hardware products and/or components.
- Repair or rework units as needed.
- Inspect machinery and equipment to ensure proper and safe operation.
- Use appropriate oils and lubricants according to metal and/or machine specifications.
- Use various measuring devices.
- Test fixtures and gauges to verify the quality of components being produced.
- Set up and maintain a well-organized work area.
- Works from samples, drawings, blueprints and/or written and verbal instructions.
- Maintain departmental records and logs.
- Follow safe working practices and properly wear personal protective equipment as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
- Ability to read and work from basic blueprints and drawings
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Valid Texas driver’s license required.

- Ability to understand and operate mechanical systems and various shop machinery/equipment.
- Skilled in using devices such as hand tools and small power tools.
- Ability to perform detailed repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to lift and/or carry 20 to 30 lbs. and push or pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally and/or frequently.
- Work involves frequent periods of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning and reaching or bending at the waist.
SHIFT:
Monday - Thursday 6:00AM-4:30PM
PAY RATE:
$15.43/hr.
