Modern Staffing is seeking a qualified Estimator for a local manufacturing company in New Braunfels, TX:
JOB SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of this position is to review and interpret engineered conceptual sketches, fabrication drawings and specification summaries. Compile costs such as bills of materials, labor inputs, outside services and overhead to derive a sound list price. Perform, where applicable, comparative margin analysis on past or similar jobs and recommend a price(s) or discount level at which the product(s) could be sold profitably.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Breakdown fabrication drawings into detailed B.O.M.'s for quoting
- Prepare and send purchasing RFQ's for all materials, machining, and services required for bid package
- Insert pricing into bid for materials, machining, and services ensuring all components are priced and included
- Delineate all labor required for producing fabrication
- Estimate hours in labor fields
- Cultivate and maintain healthy relationships with engineering, project managers, customers, and vendors
- Complete estimates on time, securing orders while maintaining a profitable margin.
- Prepare well organized, detailed estimates for review and quote preparation
- Work with sales, estimating and project management groups to achieve project goals
- Review estimates vs. actual job outcomes ensuring that areas requiring improvement are addressed
- Increasing growth and job literacy
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED). Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an associate’s degree in mechanical drafting is preferred. Prior estimating and/or Project Management experience. Programming/Drafting experience preferred.
- Ability to operate computerized accounting and cost programs.
- Excellent computer and data entry skills – proficiency using Microsoft Office a must, Made-To-Manage ERP system a plus.
- Must be detail oriented with working knowledge of materials/supplies, weights/measurements and shipping/logistics.
- Ability to read CAD and SolidWorks drawings and/or general blueprints.
- Understanding of industrial metal/steel fabrication processes and terminology.
- Self-starter with excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to understand basic mathematical functions and calculations.
- Valid Texas driver’s license required.

Monday – Friday 7:30AM-4:30PM
PAY RATE:
$60-$70k/annual
