Modern Staffing is seeking a qualified Shipping/Receiving Lead Operator for a local manufacturing company in New Braunfels and Seguin, TX:

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of this position is to serve as a lead worker in maintenance machine shop duties; Oversight of machine shop employees, operate shop machines and tools, cross-train machine operators and perform other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Support the development of the weekly machine shop production schedule and serve as the lead worker in machine operator activities.
  • Assure machine operators have an adequate supply of raw material and supplies needed to perform their functions; calculate the amount of stock required for work orders
  • Set up and adjust machinery according to print specifications and safety requirements
  • Work from drawings, patterns, templates, process sheets, or samples.
  • Provide training and assistance to machine shop staff, Train new hires
  • Operate forklift, manlift and machine shops as needed to meet production needs.
  • Machines prototype or production parts using manual and Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) machines shop equipment and precision measuring tools.
  • Ensure that employee needs are met, time off requests are reviewed, and respond to requests/concerns in a timely manner to ensure a high level of employee satisfaction.
  • Monitor assigned team members’ attendance and performance; Document and report assigned team members’ policy/procedure violations and/or performance deficiencies.
  • Support management in solving problems or conflicts by interpreting and applying company policies.


QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) and two years’ machine shop experience. Must have strong time management, leadership mentoring and cross-training experience. Associate’s degree and 3 years’ experience in a machine shop manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Attentive to detail with good planning time management skills, and willing to assume a variety of machine shop-related tasks. Knowledge of metal properties is required.
  • Skill in performing basic mathematical calculations and using precise measuring devices.
  • Mechanical aptitude; advanced skills in operating shop machinery and equipment.
  • Skill in programming and operating Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering documentation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 75 pounds occasionally and/or frequently.
  • Work involves frequent periods of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning, reaching and bending at the waist. Indoor/outdoor work environment.
SHIFT:

Monday - Thursday 6:00AM-4:30PM

PAY RATE:

$19.80/hr.
