Modern Staffing is seeking a qualified Senior Staff Accountant for a local manufacturing company in New Braunfels, TX:

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of this position is to perform various accounting job duties to meet deadlines in a timely manner and other related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Monthly journal entries
  • Cash, A/P and A/R sub-ledgers reconciliation
  • Financial report preparation
  • Maintain Inventory – Raw materials and WIP.
  • Cycle Count Selection and Adjustments
  • Manage Excess & Obsolete (E&O) inventory and E&O inventory utilization.
  • Lead Physical Inventory Coordination and Posting.
  • Review Purchase Price Variance & Inventory revaluation transactions.
  • Review and coordinate internal indirect jobs.
  • Inventory cost roll.
  • Maintain all aspects of Fixed Assets.
  • Maintain Fixed Assets database.
  • Conduct Fixed Asset Inventory Verification
  • Job Cost Reporting
  • Participate in other finance and management projects.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED). Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a bachelor's degree in business with emphasis in accounting is REQUIRED. A minimum of 3-5 plus years of related accounting experience is preferred. A minimum of 2 years' accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • Detail oriented with high level of attention to financial accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Highly skilled in dealing with financial and numerical data
  • Experienced in Excel spreadsheets and other accounting software. Excel technical skills – Pivot tables, VLookup, etc.; Functional Skills.

  • Excellent professional demeanor and the ability to collaborate with other departments
  • Ability to work beyond a standard 8-hour day during the financial close and other occasions, when necessary, potentially including weekends and holidays.

SALARY:

$55,000-$70,000
