Modern Staffing is seeking a qualified Part-Time Maintenance/Groundskeeper for a non-profit organization located in New Braunfels, TX:

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of this position is to perform various duties such as repairs, maintenance, and grounds keeping for several drug-free, smoke-free, and weapons-free agency locations, ensuring that facilities remain safe, clean, and well-maintained. Additionally, this role serves as a backup transporter for clients and summer programs as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform general upkeep, including mowing, weed control, and debris removal to maintain safe and clean premises.
  • Maintain all agency facilities, including repairs for interiors and exteriors, restrooms, laundry rooms, administrative offices, thrift stores, and storage facilities.
  • Perform minor repairs such as plumbing, electrical, landscaping, painting, and furniture moving.
  • Ensure grounds and facility exteriors are free of hazards and presentable to clients, staff, and visitors.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors for necessary repairs beyond internal capabilities.
  • Provide minor repairs at facilities and coordinate with outside contractors for other repairs as required.
  • Responsible for observing safety and security procedures as applicable and reporting potentially unsafe conditions to management.
  • Move items to and from storage facilities as required.
  • Transportation & Donation Pick-ups
  • Support the agency’s needs by transporting goods and resources between locations
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Schedule and ensure all vehicles undergo regular maintenance according to the manufacturer’s guidelines; Conduct routine checks of the vehicles
  • Work closely with program staff to ensure maintenance needs are met
  • Assist with various facility-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor; perform additional tasks as directed by the Residential Services Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED). Minimum one year of maintenance, handyman, or related experience REQUIRED.

  • Must have a valid Texas driver's license and proof of auto liability insurance.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Must be punctual and timely in meeting all performance requirements, including attendance standards and work deadlines.
  • Must be adaptable to changes in responsibilities and priorities without diminishment in work performance
  • Must have Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients and staff.
  • Experience in basic repairs, including plumbing, electrical work, landscaping, and painting
  • Ability to use various tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Flexibility to work Saturdays, evenings, and weekends if required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Ability to lift to 100 pounds, bend, squat, and reach as needed.
  • Work involves frequent periods of sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning, and reaching, bending at the waist and infrequently climbing.
